Google is out with its new Android platform Version 2.3. This one is named Gingerbread. This version promises better text input, power management and increased speed. Apart from this, Gingerbread also scores well in other areas as well.

The next Android device from Nexus is the new Nexus S. It is powered by Gingerbread platform. Nexus S is the first device which is based on the Gingerbread platform. Nexus S provides you with what we can call as a “Pure Google” experience. This smart phone features a 4 inch contour display which is designed to comfortably fit in the palm of the hand. The 1GHz processor ensures that all the applications run fast on the gadget. The internal memory of 16GB takes care of all your phone memory needs.

Gingerbread is the fastest versions of Android till date and it has a great potential in it. It has got a lot of improvements when compared to its previous version, like user interface refinements, Internet (VoIP/SIP) calling, NFC support, and gyroscope sensor support and improved copy/paste functionality.

Nexus S Phone from Google
There are lots of online stores which are selling Nexus S at highly competitive prices. This phone is worth the cost. With so much to offer, there is absolutely no competition to this phone.
Another noticeable thing about the Gingerbread platform is that it supports NFC or Near Field Technology. For those of you who don’t know about NFC, it is a sort range handheld technology used to supply the data with the device objects which have got NFC interface in them. If reports are to be believed the Gingerbread platform is going to become open source software in next couple of years.

Chip maker Marvell had a tough time in the quarter that ended January 29, with revenue down 6% (to $901 million) and net income down 13% (to $223 million) from the previous quarter -- that's despite the Christmas season, which is usually peak time for smartphone sales. The company's shares dropped more than 11% on the news. According to Marketwatch, CEO Sehat Sutardja blamed the results on a switch by one of Marvell's customers toward building low-cost, low-margin smartphones -- a market that Marvell does not supply. That customer is widely understood to be RIM. RIM is facing pressure from lower priced smartphones that run Google's Android operating system. Android basically came out of nowhere in 2010 and surpassed RIM's global market share. RIM grew in absolute numbers, but fell to number...
