The New Nexus S – Powered by Google’s Gingerbread

The first android phone was out in the market in late 2008. In just over the years, the Android technology has spread to over 100 different devices and more than 3,00,000 Android devices are active worldwide. Their sales are increasing at a very rapid pace.

Google is out with its new Android platform Version 2.3. This one is named Gingerbread. This version promises better text input, power management and increased speed. Apart from this, Gingerbread also scores well in other areas as well.

The next Android device from Nexus is the new Nexus S. It is powered by Gingerbread platform. Nexus S is the first device which is based on the Gingerbread platform. Nexus S provides you with what we can call as a “Pure Google” experience. This smart phone features a 4 inch contour display which is designed to comfortably fit in the palm of the hand. The 1GHz processor ensures that all the applications run fast on the gadget. The internal memory of 16GB takes care of all your phone memory needs.

Gingerbread is the fastest versions of Android till date and it has a great potential in it. It has got a lot of improvements when compared to its previous version, like user interface refinements, Internet (VoIP/SIP) calling, NFC support, and gyroscope sensor support and improved copy/paste functionality.

Nexus S Phone from Google
There are lots of online stores which are selling Nexus S at highly competitive prices. This phone is worth the cost. With so much to offer, there is absolutely no competition to this phone.
Another noticeable thing about the Gingerbread platform is that it supports NFC or Near Field Technology. For those of you who don’t know about NFC, it is a sort range handheld technology used to supply the data with the device objects which have got NFC interface in them. If reports are to be believed the Gingerbread platform is going to become open source software in next couple of years.

eBay Bargain Is Latest MoD Data Leak

The data on the drive was easily retrieved and had handily-labelled folders. One marked ‘Nato Secret’ held information and photographs of police command posts in Helmand and notes about the police manning the area. These included the number of men, their weapons and patrol details. The files also held pictures and personal information about “hundreds” of volunteers who had joined the Afghan police force and army. There was also a copy of the “Afghan National Police Tactical Handbook” which showed how the police would tackle the Taliban rebels and gave details on how to recognise a roadside bomb. All of the data was unencrypted and freely accessible. Had it fallen into the hands of the Taliban, the information could have put Afghan lives in greater danger and compromised the British presence in the country.
